Top 5 Pembrokeshire experiences for your stay at Newgale Holidays

Comments Off on Top 5 Pembrokeshire experiences for your stay at Newgale Holidays

We’re biased – when it comes to memorable holidays, we already know you’re going to have an unforgettable time.  With your accommodation with us – be it a cottage or a camping pitch – overlooking one of the most stunning bays in West Wales, with the only coastal national park’s many scenic routes nearby and a prolific surfer’s haven below at Newgale, there’s a good chance you’ll never want to leave.

Luckily, though, this area is also well prepared for guests, from award-winning restaurants serving freshly caught sea produce to a myriad of micro breweries, you have the opportunity at every hamlet to indulge in a true taste of Pembrokeshire.

It’s our experience providers here in Pembrokeshire that are the icing on the coastal cake.  We’re proud to live and work alongside some incredible people whose main goal is to make sure that if you’re coming all the way to the Wild West, that you have the most memorable Pembrokeshire experiences while you’re here.

Listed below are our Top 5 Pembrokeshire Experiences…but we know that there are lots more out there!  If you find some that you think we should tell people about, then please post your pictures and your reviews on our Facebook page!

  1.  Surf’s Up

If watersports are your thing…and even if they aren’t…it would seem foolhardy to drive to one of the most famous coastlines in the world and not get in the water!  If you need a little helping hand, then we’ve got a world-class expert on hand.  Pete Bound is not only the owner of Masterclass Surfing right here at Newgale, but he’s also a veteran surfer who represented Wales in surf championships all around the world.  You can’t get better Pembrokeshire experiences than this – taught by a surfing legend on Wales’ legendary surfing coastlines.  Pete welcomes students of all ages and of all types of experience.  No need to be a champ to have a good time with this fantastic company!

  1. Sea-food for yourself!

Surfing is not the only thing that you can do on this spectacular seashore.  Foraging expert Craig Evans runs courses that teach you about the edible feast right in front of your noses right there on the beach…yes, really!  From shellfish to edible seaweed, from cockles to sea vegetables, these are Pembrokeshire experiences for all the senses!  Craig’s courses can be as intense or as laid back as you like, and he’ll tailor the course to suit your tastes…quite literally!  Learn about the ocean, the history of marine foraging, and the history of our beautiful coastline in one of the most unusual and unforgettable Pembrokeshire experiences on our list.

  1. High above sea level

If you’re more of a land lover than a sea-dweller, then there are plenty of Pembrokeshire experiences that are right up your…path.  With so many trails, paths, bridleways, and mountain passes to choose from across the county, it’s probably best to call in the experts.  VIP Wales is run by husband and wife team Ewan and Laura, who will help you hike to the most fantastic viewpoints that Pembrokeshire has to offer.  Their guided walking packages help you to get the most out of the area’s scenic and surprising highlights whilst on your break at Newgale holidays. Each tour is customisable and flexible to suit your walking ability and location preferences – otherwise, they’ll happily suggest the best local scenery to explore to make the most out of your perfect personalised Pembrokeshire excursion.

  1. Capture your Pembrokeshire experiences

With all this outstanding scenery to explore, you might want a masterclass in how to capture your perfect Pembrokeshire experiences.  Experienced photographer Rachel Mullet has been running photography workshops in Pembrokeshire for several years, and they have become the perfect way to encapsulate all of your most treasured memories along this memorable coastline.  Choose from a Pembrokeshire Hotspots workshop where Rachel will take you to the best locations for an off-the-auto-button class, or choose the Skomer Island workshop and visit the home of our famous part-time residents, the puffins!  You can also choose the spot, and Rachel will help you capture your favourite view for you to take home with you.

  1. Puffins, seals, and…grubs?

As far as Pembrokeshire experiences go, eating cricket cookies or holding a giant stick insect probably wasn’t what you expected in an otherwise bucolic coastal environment.  The Bug Farm is dedicated to all things bugs and is a fantastic experience for all the family.  Learn about all types of invertebrates at the Tropical Bug Zoo and the Bug Museum, as well as learning how to care for our British bugs, or just having a play around on the Bug Trail or in the Bug Barn.  It really is a day out like no other and we think it’s not only the kids that will remember this place forever!

And there we have it – our top 5 Pembrokeshire experiences for you to try.  Don’t forget to add your days out to our social media and tag #newgaleholidays so that we can see what you thought of our suggestions!
