St Davids City Open Garden Weekend
A visit to Britain’s smallest city usually involves a tour of its famous cathedral, home to the remains of Wales’ patron saint, and an amble through cobbled streets to boutique shops and quaint cafes before heading off to the beach. For this June weekend, however, the city opens 25 of its garden gates to welcome visitors to explore what’s behind the city’s stunning exterior walls. Spoiler: the views are as stunning inside the gates, and are not only filled with gorgeous grounds bursting with blooms, but are hosted by artists, poets, authors, and local small businesses, giving you a rich and vibrant cultural and horticultural experience.
Who? The event is sponsored by Penrhiw Priory and aims to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.
Where? St Davids City
When? 26th & 27th June 2021
How? No need to book, just check out the garden plan here and take in as many as you’d like over this (hopefully sunny) weekend.
Md C Ultra 2021
This is one of Pembrokeshire’s most challenging an exhilarating events. This Ultra Marathon’s course runs from St Dogmaels, the most northerly point of Pembrokeshire, heading south along its 186-mile coastal path to Amroth in the South. The race takes place over 3 days and takes in the most spectacular scenery and dramatic landscapes that make this part of the world famous. We don’t expect that you’ve got a spare 80 hours, but if you’re a race participant, we’re located roughly halfway down the route, so we’re perfectly placed to welcome pre-booked runners for a welcome few days resting in the sea air after the most challenging of summer events!
Who? The race is organised by MUUK
Where? St Dogmaels, Pembrokeshire
When? 2-4th July 2021

Comedy and Music at Trehale Farm
A mere 15-minute drive inland from Newgale Holidays is Trehale Farm where owners Adam and Jenny run what they like to call ‘the biggest beer garden in Pembrokeshire’. This is a venue you won’t forget – a rustic stage is located within an open-ended barn, and with comfortable sofas, benches, tables, and twinkly fairy lights dotted all around, this is what could be called farmyard chic. Selling locally brewed beer and with Adam often cooking up a feast of his own butchered meat in his open-air kitchen, Trehale Farm is known for cracking comedy nights and amazing gigs featuring the plethora of local talent the St Davids peninsula has to offer.
Where? Trehale Farm, Hayscastle Cross, Haverfordwest SA62 5HX – look out for the large, colourful signs pointing you down country lanes towards this quirky venue!
When? Every Friday & Saturday night throughout the summer & autumn.

This summer, HaverHub is reopening post-lockdown with a myriad of musical nights, with local legends Honey Fungus kicking things off on Friday night, a night of all-out rock on Saturday night, and a more mellow Sunday offering of folk and harmonies to end their re-emergence. It is also the location of many summer events, most notably the fantastic Quantum Theatre who is putting on a rip-roaring tale of pirates, treasure, and misadventure on the high seas, a perfect afternoon of fun for children of all ages.

Ransacking Romans at Castell Henllys
Castell Henllys is an extraordinary place, about half an hour’s drive from your holiday accommodation – it’s not just a replica Iron Age village, it’s a reconstruction of what was originally on this important archeological site, placed in their exact foundations. The excavation of this site has been ongoing for over 20 years, and the four round houses on the fort top have become a popular visitors attraction. From the 1st June until 31st August, you can experience a little of what it was like when the Celts came face to face with the Romans with ‘Ransacking Romans’, a historic reenactment where you’re encouraged to join forces with Queen Boudica’s tribe to help keep the Roman army at bay…will you take up the fight?
Where? Meline, Crymych SA41 3UR
When? 1st June – 31st August 2021, 10am – 5pm
