Easter Self-Catering Breaks in Pembrokeshire – Our Guide to Staying by Newgale Beach
Comments Off on Easter Self-Catering Breaks in Pembrokeshire – Our Guide to Staying by Newgale BeachEaster is one of our favourite times of year here in Pembrokeshire. Having lived here all our lives, we’ve watched the coastline and countryside shift from the quiet stillness of winter into something brighter and full of energy again. Spring flowers begin to appear along the lanes, the days stretch longer, and the beaches start to fill with families ready to enjoy the fresh sea air. It’s the perfect moment to plan an Easter break in Pembrokeshire, and we truly believe Newgale makes the ideal base for your holiday.
Choosing Newgale holidays puts you right at the heart of the Pembrokeshire coast, just 2 minutes from Newgale Beach.

Our cottages offer easy access to one of the county’s most beautiful beaches, ideal for sandcastle building, dog walks, surfing, or simply soaking up the view. Being centrally located also means you’re perfectly placed for exploring further afield – whether that’s heading north to St Davids, south to Tenby, or inland to discover historic castles and family attractions.
Our 5 Dog Friendly, Self-Catering Cottages
Here at Newgale Holidays, we have five cottages, each with its own unique charm. All are designed with comfort in mind, offering a relaxing retreat after a day of coastal adventures.
Caldey Cottage offers that little bit of extra indulgence. It’s ideal for longer stays, giving you space to truly settle in and enjoy Pembrokeshire at your own pace. From winter coastal walks to lazy summer beach days, Caldey works beautifully in every season.
Ramsey Cottage has a wonderfully calm and cosy feel, making it ideal for couples or smaller families. It’s especially popular for romantic breaks, with a layout that lends itself perfectly to relaxed mornings, peaceful evenings, and quality time together (a lovely option for Valentine’s Day by the sea!).
Skomer Cottage is a true all-rounder and a favourite with guests who want practicality without sacrificing comfort. It’s perfectly suited to both winter escapes and busy summer holidays, offering an easy, relaxed base for exploring the coast, local walks, and nearby attractions.
Grassholm Cottage is a fantastic choice for families. Spacious, bright, and welcoming, it’s designed with comfort in mind after a day outdoors. There’s plenty of room to relax together, whether that’s sharing meals, playing games, or simply putting your feet up while the dog settles in for the evening.
The Woodland Retreat (Solva) is perfect should you be looking for something a little different. This chocolate box cottage offers a peaceful hideaway surrounded by nature. Tucked away and wonderfully private, it’s perfect for guests looking to truly switch off. In winter, it feels especially magical, quiet, still, and deeply relaxing.

Spring is when Pembrokeshire holidays really begin to come alive again. Wildlife becomes more active, coastal paths are dotted with colour, and outdoor adventures feel inviting rather than bracing. Families visiting during Easter can enjoy rockpooling, cycling, and coastal walks, while couples can take advantage of quieter moments to explore hidden coves or scenic viewpoints. It’s also a wonderful time to travel with dogs, with plenty of dog-friendly beaches and open spaces waiting to be discovered.
From our perspective as locals, the beauty of an Easter holiday in Pembrokeshire is the balance it offers. It’s lively enough to feel energising, yet still peaceful enough to relax. Evenings spent returning to a comfortable cottage after a day outdoors, sharing stories of what you’ve seen and done, are often what guests tell us they remember most.
If you’re thinking about booking your Pembrokeshire Easter getaway, we’d always recommend securing your dates early as it’s a popular time for good reason.
